Advertised Position Title: Instructor, Sonography Job Description: Develops curricula and delivers course material as defined in the CAAHEP standards.
Updates syllabi according to the Curriculum Committee template.
Submits course syllabi and outlines to the Chair.
Involved in the initial CAAHEP program accreditation to follow with maintenance and continuation of program accreditation.
Holds position of Concentration Coordinator, per CAAHEP standards, for the Cardiac Sonography program.
Holds position of Clinical Coordinator, per CAAHEP standards, for both Cardiac and Vascular Sonography programs.
Communicates with students, clinical staff, other faculty, and the Sonography Department Chair regarding student classroom, laboratory, and clinic needs and issues.
Maintains competency in the professional discipline and instructional evaluative techniques through continuing professional development.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Extensive knowledge base as related to the Cardiac and Vascular concentrations of a CAAHEP accredited program.
Understanding of academics in higher education, including but not limited to: innovative content delivery, assessment of student learning, adapting to differing learning styles, alignment of course content with clinical requirements, etc.
Strong interpersonal skills, Communication and organizational skills, Skill in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Ability to skillfully use ultrasound equipment, Knowledge of audiovisual equipment, Verbal, public speaking, and presentation skills.
Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team; to organize and retain documentation; work collaboratively to make decisions under pressures; manage several projects at once.
Ability to recognize strengths and weaknesses in students’ performance and adapt teaching style to accommodate.

They must take responsibility for their actions, and demonstrate trustworthiness, honestly, and high personal standards.
Education/Experience: Associate degree or two-year technical certificate.
Bachelor degree preferred.
Must at least be enrolled in Bachelor’s degree completion program and obtain degree within two years from the date of hire.
Two years full-time clinical experience in sonography, cardiac and/or vascular specialties.
Five years preferred.
ARDMS certification in cardiac and vascular sonography.
CPR certified.
Preferred: Two years teaching experience in a CAAHEP accredited Sonography program to include course development, instructional methodologies, and evaluation.
However, the right candidate will be considered.
