The Fort Meigs YMCA is seeking an experienced part-time piano instructor to implement group programming for youth through adults.
We are looking for someone experienced with providing piano lessons, but open to other instruments as well.
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Flexible scheduled hours range from mid-morning through early evening, Monday through Saturday.
POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
The Music Instructor will prepare music lessons for youth.
The Music Instructor maintains a safe and inclusive atmosphere where youth can learn how to express themselves through music and build relationships with other participants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for setting, planning, preparing and leading creative music lesson activities for youth, continuously informing the Arts and Humanities Director of plans and schedules.
Clearly communicate music lesson plans which students take home to practice and retain lesson concepts.
Provide an atmosphere where all youth of all backgrounds will feel safe, welcome, and comfortable to always express themselves.
Support youth in relating to others, managing complex emotions, and building lasting friendships with one another Provides and welcomes ongoing dialogue with families about their child's participation in activities, behaviors, and related topics, connecting families to the YMCA.
Knows, reviews, and applies all safety, emergency, and child abuse prevention policies and procedures, responding to emergency situations in accordance with YMCA protocol Participates as a member of assigned committees, attends regular staff meetings, and promotes the YMCA throughout the local community Maintain the music studio to ensure it is safe, neat, and clean for all participants Why Work At The Y?
