Summary
This position designs, plans, coordinates, and conducts both face-to-face and online technological and pedagogical training seminars and webinars for faculty that promote the goals of the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE); provides technological and pedagogical support in assisting program directors and individual faculty in designing, developing, and implementing face-to-face, blended, remote, and online courses for various campus curricula and degree programs; provides training to faculty, administrators, and staff in use of the Learning Management System (Canvas) and its various LTIs (Learning Tools Interoperability); assists the Director of the CFE in the planning and implementation of course design strategies, including the creation and integration of appropriate multimedia elements; provides assistance to department administrators and staff in the creation and conversion of course assessments for use within the current course management system employed by the University in conjunction with the Office of Academic Assessment; and provides support to the Director of the CFE with managing professional development and data collection and reporting regarding the key performance indicators aligned with institutional and CFE goals; provides input into academic technology decisions.
Essential Functions
Designs, plans, coordinates, and conducts both face-to-face and online technological and pedagogical training seminars and webinars for faculty that promote the goals of the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE).
Provides technological and pedagogical support in assisting program directors and individual faculty in designing, developing, and implementing face-to-face, blended, and online courses for various campus curricula and degree programs, including learning new technology
Assists the Director of the CFE in the planning and implementation of course design strategies, including the creation and integration of appropriate multimedia elements.
Participate in appropriate university committees regarding academic technology and faculty development processes
Provides assistance to department administrators and staff in the creation and conversion of course assessments for use within the current course management system employed by the University in conjunction with the Office of Academic Assessment.
Provides support to the Director of the CFE with managing professional development and data collection and reporting regarding the key performance indicators aligned with institutional and CFE goals.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
The following Degree is required:
Bachelor's degree.
Degree must be conferred at the time of the application.
The following Degree is preferred:
Bachelor's degree in education, higher education, technology, or related field.
The following Experience is required:
2 years experience in face-to-face, blended, and/or online instruction and/or development
2 years experience with academic technologies (e.
g.
, multimedia, classroom technologies, Canvas)
Additional Information
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient with learning management systems (preferably Canvas) and other learning tools
Experience working with faculty and/or teaching in higher education
Experience designing and/or implementing online instruction
Experienced with web development programs and digital multimedia tools which include sound and video editing and web authoring programs.
Experience using Web tools and social media tools
Proficient in cross platform operating systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent applied learning skills
Ability to create and implement solutions/good problem solving ability
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with broad range of constituents
Good team player
