PURPOSE/SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
To teach ESL (English as Second Language) to adults with various levels of English proficiency
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead English language instruction, with an emphasis on English as it relates to obtaining and retaining a job
Lead classes outside of normal working hours to accommodate working adults
Assist in curriculum development for Multi-Level Classroom including: Grammar, Comprehension, Pronunciation, Reading and Writing
Collaborate with Case Managers to assist participants with removing barriers to participation and to coordinate English language training with employment-related services
Collaborate with Volunteer Tutors on the development / implementation of the ESL curriculum, including their training
Effectively engage clients in the establishment of educational goals and objectives
Maintain participant documentation standards by preparing and completing, in a timely manner, all required records and reports for all assigned students
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending agency in-service programs, educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks
Maintain client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential

Minimum of Adult ESL classroom instruction experience in a related field.
TESOL Certification and bilingual capability preferred.
REQUIRED LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to express oneself in an articulate and effective manner both verbally and in written communications.
REQUIRED REASONING ABILITY
Ability to deal with abstract as well as concrete problematic people and situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
