Job no: 496125 Work type: Faculty - Regular Location: Health Science Campus College Categories: Faculty, Full-Time, Research, None, Academic Position Summary: The position is for an independent researcher using molecular, cellular, or systems approaches to address fundamental questions relevant to the nervous system.
This faculty member's research should complement or extend existing basic science and translational research interests in the Dept.
of Neurosciences, including synaptic physiology, neural development, plasticity of adult human cortex, intraneuronal signaling and trafficking, and mechanisms of neurological disorders.
The position also includes training and teaching professional, postgraduate, graduate and undergraduate learners.

D.
and/or M.
D.
/D.
O.
degree, substantial postdoctoral research accomplishments, as indicated by competitive research funding and a track record of peer-reviewed publications in neuroscience journals.
Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and medical student education and excellent communication skills are also required.
The successful candidate must maintain an extramurally funded research program.
Reporting Relationships: The faculty member will mentor and supervise graduate and postdoctoral students and may also oversee shorter research experiences of undergraduates and medical students.
Working Conditions: Academic teaching and research setting based at UT Health Science Campus.
