Job Title: Delivery Driver & Install Associate
Primary Objective: Deliver and haul away heavy commercial restaurant equipment & supplies to existing customer restaurants and newly constructed job sites in a safe, timely and professional manner
Primary Functions: This position is responsible for supporting Delivery & Install leads in achieving delivery of restaurant equipment and supplies according to daily delivery and project milestone schedules and quality criteria.
FLSA Status: Hourly-Starting at $18/hr
Scheduled Hours: Monday-Friday typical, weekends if needed
8:00am-5:00pm (Delivery)
6:00am-6:00pm (Install)
Up to 50% Regional Travel Required, Overnight stays may be required
Key Areas of Responsibility
Deliver heavy and light duty equipment and supplies to customers within delivery area according to delivery route on manifest (lifting and pivoting equipment to set in place in confined spaces is common)
Ensure customer call ahead to customer and post-delivery email to Burkett on all deliveries
Define and deliver to an on-site plan to ensure safe and efficient delivery every time
Take pictures and email confirmation to Burkett team members as required
Complete uncrating, set in place, assembly, mounting and caulking as specified for delivery and / or install
Packaging haul away and customer equipment haul away
Load and unload the Burkett company truck and sweep and clean it daily
Follow QC requirements at point of loading truck and at point of delivery.
Present packing slips to customers
Drive company vehicle safely during delivery of products following regulations and maintaining delivery vehicle
Inspect & maintain delivery vehicle.
Notify supervisor of any required truck maintenance or issues that require immediate attention
Maintain DOT-compliance
Support internal warehouse operation needs when not making deliveries
Internal project-based tasks as assigned
Perform all of the above listed duties safely and according to OSHA standards
Provide customer service, be courteous & problem solve while on deliveries/installs
Will include overnight stays as needed to ensure on time delivery of projects.
Requirements
Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently
Ability to maneuver heavy equipment with use of material handling tools or vehicles
Must be mechanically inclined and have experience using hand tools to support item assembly, door hinge assembly, assembly of legs and casters and tear down crates or pallets
Must be DOT certified (medical) or able to become certified immediately
Have ability to become forklift certified and OSHA 10 hour certified
Standard background check and BCI&I and FBI background check will be required with pre-employment
Highly organized and motivated, ability to work independently, and maintain accurate and detailed reports
Great problem-solving skills, flexible with changing schedules and customer focused
Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
Ability to contribute to team supporting multiple priorities and demanding time frames
Exhibits confidence and contributes to team building through a positive attitude
Experience/Education Required:
High School Diploma
Heavy Equipment handling experience preferred
1-2 years of driving experience in a non-CDL commercial vehicle
Knowledge of general material handling equipment and proper usage
