Education/Experience: Must be a minimum of a Junior in a 4-year college program with a major of IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field of study.
First Solar encourages all interns to register their internship with their University.
Graduate students also considered.
Previous internship or work experience is a plus.
Required Skills/Competencies: Accountability – Ownership of responsibilities as assigned.
Clear communication at all times with supervisor.
Ability to speak up when assistance is needed on tasks, or to share an improvement idea.
Dependability and follow through are essential.
Communication – Ability to communicate with team members, supervisor, other associates in a professional way, both written and verbal.
Collaboration – Ability to work as an effective team member in various settings (in person, in office, remote, hybrid).
Time Management – Ability to manage time well, complete requests, and proactively share about the status of their work with a supervisor.
Ability to listen, ask questions and seek clarity if/when needed on tasks.
Learning and Flexibility – Desire to learn more about different facets of IT and have the willingness to try different roles and tasks as part of the rotational program.
Essential Responsibilities: This rotational program will progress the intern through 3-4 different teams in IT.
Some examples include: As part of the business planning Office, the intern will: Provide administrative support to Project Managers with planning meetings, taking notes, identifying and following up on actions in support of projects, aggregating statuses, preparing reports, etc.
Draft communication deliverables (email, presentations, intranet updates, etc.
).
Assist with plans to ready the organization for technology/process changes, including working with learning management tools.
As part of the delivery team, the intern will: Audit testing for the ERP Gather and track updates for large programs (e.
g.
Oracle implementation); assist project team members with project coordination, note taking, meeting scheduling Assist with data migration of attachments and historical quality incidents Provide plan for decommissioning Intelex SharePoint sites, Teams, Learning / training materials, etc.
Draft communication deliverables and surveys for RenewABLE employee resource group Collaborate with team and present proposal for re-designing the Accessibility SharePoint site As part of the service management team, the intern will: Install software Maintain entitlements in ServiceNow Work with Service Desk (level 1) to audit software entitlements Maintain license portals Image computers Assist with inventory management of IT hardware for the manufacturing plants Troubleshoot Review and update processes and procedures Upon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.
Reporting Relationships: No direct reports Travel: Travel between the First Solar Manufacturing Campus in Perrysburg Only.
Estimated Salary Range: $18 - $24/Hour Physical Requirements: Office Physical Requirements: All positions in our office require interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
