*POSITION DESCRIPTION*
Responsible for all instruction of students in all programs where applicable in accordance with established policies, procedures, and established AHED requirements.
The position reports directly to a Program Chair, Dean of Academic Affairs and/or Campus Director.
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* • This position is a full time, exempt position, which means that you are paid for the job and not by the hour and will not be eligible to receive overtime pay.
• Promote an educational environment that values and fosters respect for diversity and equity.
• Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and students to achieve the individual and class outcomes.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships or partnerships with the Colleges and within the community.
• Prepare and provide all lecture, laboratory, and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum.
* Oversee all animals used and housed in the lab areas.
* Perform surgeries and oversee care of all animals.
* Adhere and follow all USDA policies and procedures.
* Adhere and follow all AMVA policies and standards • Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program and/or develop such when indicated by the Program Chair, Dean of Academic Affairs and/or Campus Director.
• Organize, implement, and revise curriculum materials to comply with the College’s program standards.
• Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional events.
• Create instructional support materials.
• Monitor student attendance and retention and document as required by the administration.
Call and document students who miss class daily.
• Grade assignments, returning graded assignments to students, and assigning final grades for all students in a timely manner (i.
e.
, less than 48 hours from the due date of the assignment/homework).
• Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled times (i.
e.
, office hours) or by appointment • Provide educational support for students by thoroughly understanding and implementing the learning resources necessary to identify and create an individualized success plan for each at-risk student.
• Evaluate student progress in the course, create, administer, and grade tests, assignments, discussion boards, case studies and a variety of learning pedagogy • Contribute to the educational growth of the student through informal methods (e.
g.
, informal counseling and/or advising, casual conversation, office hours) • Remediate identified students at risk through seminars, remediation workshops, group tutorials and one-on-one tutoring to improve performance.
• Substitute in classes when necessary (if qualified).
• Advise students as it relates to school policies, satisfactory performance, etc.
Maintain communication with the Program Chair, Dean of Academic Affairs and/or Campus Director regarding such activity.
• Submit in writing current textbook, supply, and equipment needs to the appropriate supervisor.
• Monitor all equipment and supply inventory.
• Secure consumable supplies as well as educational materials from administrative office when needed.
• Maintain professional appearance.
• Communicate with the Program Chair, Dean of Academic Affairs or Campus Director (as applicable) on all issues related to students.
• Maintain professional expertise (faculty development and professional growth) to meet accreditation standards by attending educational seminars in professional field; attending teaching improvement as provided including mandatory AHED online training and Foundations of Teaching modules; reading current literature, attending online courses, etc.
• Follow regulatory and accreditor body requirements upholding hour contact/credit hour and meeting the requirements set for in policies, practices, handbooks, catalogues, and guiding documents.

) as assigned based upon expertise or campus needs.
• Online Instruction: Ensure daily review of the course to monitor student participation, answer student questions and grade student work within 48 hours.
• Perform other duties as required.
*JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS* • Must be a licensed Veterinarian with a minimum of 4 years experience *COMPENSATION* • Full time Instructor - Salaried Exempt • Compensation dependent on experience, knowledge, and education level *OTHER* 1.
Full time faculty members at all locations are salaried employees.

In addition to the teaching platform duties full time faculty will be expected to engage in; tutoring, class preparation, curriculum development, faculty development (in- service, formal coursework, seminars, etc.
), office hours, departmental meetings, substituting for colleagues (ad hoc short-term substitution), and others.
There is no additional compensation for these activities.
